The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Lawal Abubakar Daura has charged area commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in the state to be civil, firm and apolitical during the forthcoming re-run elections in Kebbi State.

The CP met with the area commanders, DPOs and Tactical commanders, with a view to providing a conducive atmosphere for a peaceful conduct of the forthcoming re-run elections slated for Saturday, 15th April 2023 without any hitch in the state.

The CP also charged the Policemen to be civil, polite, and professional, but firm in all their dealings with members of the public during the elections with more emphasis on respect for the fundamental human rights of the citizens.

Daura, however, calls on the good people of Kebbi State to cooperate with the police and other Security Agencies in the state to enable them to discharge their duty optimally.

Sequel to the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, and approval by the Police Service Commission, on 11th April, 2023, CP Lawal Abubakar  Daura, and his management team decorated one Assistant Commissioner of Police to a substantive rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police, two Chief Superintendents of Police to their substantive rank of Assistant Commissioners of Police and two Superintendents of Police to their substantive rank of Chief Superintendents of Police.

Daura congratulated the newly promoted senior Police officers on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police and charged them to be more committed in the discharge of their duty.

He called on them to consider their promotion to the new rank as recognition of their hard work and dedication to duty, as well as motivation and additional responsibility. He equally advised them to be disciplined and loyal to the constituted authority while in the Force.

On behalf of the promotees, DCP Yahaya I. Danjuma thanked the Almighty Allah for sparing their lives with sound health to witness this memorable day.

He further expressed his profound gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission, for graciously recommending and approving their promotion and promised to redouble their efforts in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The event was graced by the CP’s Management Team, Area Commanders, Heads of Departments, families and well-wishers of the promotees.
