The Esther Child Rights Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), concerned with issues relating to child abuse, gender-based violence and human rights, is organising a seminar on how to check rape in Eziama Hall Anara, Isiala Mbano, Imo State.

According to the organisation’s founder, Ambassador Esther Ekwem, the sponsor of the seminar, which also includes free medical check-ups, is Apostle Ifeanyi Chukwu Ekwem.

The event will be taking place on the 28th of October 2023, from 10: am- to 3:30 a.m. The theme is, “Seminar Big October Stop Rape.”

Speaking further about the Seminar, Esther said: “We must keep on creating awareness for people to know more about their rights, their health and try to work together with the people to check incidents of rape.

“I am from Mbano and here, we keep seeing cases of rape and early marriages, 16 years and 15 years old already pregnant, and someone already has children.

“We want to use this seminar to talk to them using the Igbo language so that they can understand. We have discovered that most people here do not know their rights and it’s very bad. We need to continue to create awareness and continue to educate and enlighten them.”
