Robbers attack Police Inspector on illegal duty, snatch AK47 rifle

The Lagos State Police Command has started quizzing a Police Inspector, Ojeata Kenneth, who allegedly went on illegal duty and thereafter lost his service AK47 rifle to suspected armed robbers.

According to a Situation Report sighted by Securitynewsalert.com, the incident occurred on the 8th of December at about 9:30 PM, at the Igando Bus Stop, Lagos State.

The SITREP reads: “ On the 8th of December at about 9:30p:m, one AP/No 222018 Inspector Ojeata Kenneth attached to anti-crime patrol went out alone on illegal duty at Igando bus stop, where he was attacked by armed robbers riding on a Black Qlink Motorcycle with registration number SMK 154 QM and his service AK 47 rifle with breach number 22669 and 10 rounds of live ammunition were carted away by the armed robbers.

“Anti-crime patrol swiftly swung into action and one of the armed robbers, Bright Chinaza, 32,  of No 23 Idris Sdebisi Street, Ijegun Lagos, was arrested and their motorcycle recovered.

“While other members of the armed robbery gang are still at large, effort to arrest the fleeing members of his gang and possible recovery of the firearm and ammunition is vigorously being made.

“AP/No 134555 ASP Amusa Isiaka, who was posted to lead the team on foot patrol has been issued a query for leaving the allocated beat without permission and lack of supervision, while AP/No 222018 inspector Ojeata Kenneth, AP/No 352143, Inspector Bisi Jumari were
