Anambra Police rescues old woman after viral shows maltreatment from daughter

The Anambra State Police Command has rescued an aged woman from her cruel daughter identified as 50 years old Ukamaka Udeugbo, following a viral video showing how she was maltreating her mother.

The aged woman was rescued by Operatives attached to Abagana Division, on the 15^th of July 2023, at Umudunu village, Abagana.

The Anambra State Police spokesman, Ikenga Tochukwu, who made the revelation, said that the investigation showed that the old woman being by maltreated was the biological daughter of the woman.

Tochukwu said: “The suspect who flogged the naked aged woman repeatedly and threw buckets of water on her while lying on the floor has been arrested and detained for prosecution.

“The Commissioner of Police Anambra State, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has directed the transfer of the case to State CID in the public interest and has authorized that the aged woman be handed to Commissioner for Women Affairs for adequate care by the State Government. The suspect is to be arraigned in court at the end of the investigation.”
