Mixed reactions have followed reports alleging that more than 100 civilians were killed in a recent airstrike by the Nigerian Air Force, with critics condemning the incident as another case of mistaken targeting, while supporters insist the operation struck terrorist elements.
The controversy erupted after accounts emerged suggesting that the strike, reportedly carried out during an operation against insurgents, may have hit a populated area, including a market.
While some observers and media reports claim civilian casualties, others have defended the military, arguing that those present in the area were linked to terrorist activities.
On social media, reactions have been sharply divided.
A user, @kufrekoffi, questioned the quality of surveillance used in the operation, saying, “Can’t you see how blurry the view is? The technology is getting so badly outdated… we need more of these results, perhaps with a much clearer screen so we can give a better analysis.”
