Bandits Abduct Police Officer, Others While Travelling to Kebbi

-

Bandits have abducted several people, including a police officer, during an attack along a highway in northern Nigeria, according to a report shared on social media on Tuesday.

The police officer was identified as Kabiru Bello Adamu, who serves at the Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State. He was reportedly travelling to Kebbi State to visit relatives and attend to some official matters when the attackers intercepted his vehicle and kidnapped him along the route.

Details surrounding the exact location of the abduction and the number of other victims taken remain unclear as of the time of filing this report. There has also been no official statement from the police authorities confirming the incident or outlining rescue efforts.

Kidnappings by bandits have remained a major security challenge across parts of northern Nigeria, with travellers frequently targeted on highways despite ongoing security operations by government forces.
