The Katsina State Police Command has successfully repelled bandits’ attack and recovered 200 cattle, 150 sheep and two bandits’ operational motorcycles.

The Public Relations Officer (PPRO), a Superintendent of Police (SP) Mr. Gambo Isah, said that on February 2, about 6:pm, a distress call was received that bandits in their numbers, on motorcycles and shooting sporadically, had attacked Nassarawa-Bugaje Village, Jibia Local Government Area and rustled large number of domestic animals.

Isah further said: “They were armed with AK47 rifles.  Police patrol  team, led by the Officer in Charge of Anti-Kidnapping Unit, was dispatched to the scene and engaged the hoodlums in a gun-duel.  The operational strategy and tactics exhibited by the police team forced the hoodlums to retreat, abandoning their mission. The team succeeded in recovering all the rustled animals, which is 200 cattle and 150 sheep. In the course of scanning the scene, two new brand operational motorcycles belonging to the terrorists were recovered. Further more, some stolen provisions items were recovered.”
