#Benue Massacre: Rampaging Killers Return, Mown Down 4 Mobile Policemen, Cart Away Rifles

The Nigeria Police Force has been plunged into mourning, following the killings of four mobile policemen, identified as AP/No. 232715 Inspector Samuel Bisalla, AP/No. 353761 Inspector Emmanuel Bitrus, AP/No. 296032 Inspector John Sunday, AP/No. 353859 Inspector Kenneth Gabriel and AP/No. 178344 Assistant Superintendent of Police, Jacob Elisha.

 

The attack on the policemen was said to have been carried out by suspected herdsmen. This attack came just weeks after over 100 Benue State Indigenes, including women and children, were slaughtered by suspected herdsmen.

 

Securitynewsalert.com heard that the slain policemen were part of operatives stationed in the area to protect the residents.

 

A source said: “On the 29th of  June 2025, At About 9:55 pm, there was an attack on the Mopol Unit. Information was received from Supol Daudu on the 29th of June 2025, at about 2:pm, that four men of the Police Mobile Force 12 (PMF), on special duty in Ude, Lagos, Guma Local Government, Benue State, while responding to distress call, some armed men in large numbers, suspected to be herdsmen, were sighted with large number of cattle, advancing towards Ude Village.

 

“They were already very close to the primary school building in Udei, which serves as a base for PMF 12 personnel posted to protect the town from armed herdsmen and bandits.

 

“He further stated that in a bid to halt the herders, they suddenly opened fire on them from an ambush position, and following that, four 12 PMF personnel lost their lives. Their firearms were carted away.

 

“Ap/No. 232715 Insp. Samuel Bisalla, Ap/No. 353761 Insp. Emmanuel Bitrus, Ap/No. 296032 Insp. John Sunday and Ap/No. 353859 Insp. Kenneth Gabriel. Ap/No. 178344 Asp. Jacob Elisha. AP/No. 514533 Inspector Zakari Bangajiya, who got injured during the attack, were rushed to Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Markudi, for medical attention and is responding to treatment as they were said to have suffered exhaustion.

 

“Meanwhile, corpses of deceased officers were taken to the same hospital morgue for preservation and medical examination. Special tactical teams are being mobilised as efforts to arrest culprits are being intensified.

 

“Reinforcement of tactical teams and an APC have been deployed to Udie and Daudu Divisional Headquarters that covers Udie town to prevent attack.”
