Boat Accident Claims Lives of 14 Wedding Guests in Kebbi

Governor Nasir Idris has expressed his deepest condolences to the community of Yauri following a tragic boat accident that claimed the lives of 14 people.

Information received by SecurityNewsAlert.com stated that the tragedy occurred at Gumbi village as a vessel carrying over 100 passengers was returning from Gwarzo village in the Ngaski Local Government Area. The passengers had reportedly been travelling to accompany a bride to her new home when the boat capsized. Among the 14 confirmed fatalities were 13 women and one child.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ahmed Idris, said that the Governor’s message was delivered by the Chairman of the Yauri Local Government Area, Abubakar Shu’aibu.

Representing the Governor at the funeral proceedings, Shu’aibu offered prayers for the deceased, asking for the forgiveness of their shortcomings and their admission into Aljannatul Firdaus.

Governor Idris urged the grieving families to find strength during this difficult period, calling on them to accept the incident as the will of the Almighty. Following the incident, all victims were laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.
