The CLEEN Foundation, supported by the UN Women and Norwegian Embassy holds a 5-day digital skill for Women Mediation Platform in Kaduna State.
The Executive Director of the CLEEN Foundation, Mr Peter Gad, represented by Mrs Justina Johnson, from the same organisation, said that the event was all about Train-the-Trainer.
During his welcoming speech, Gad said: “I welcome each of you as we embark on this empowering journey together. Today marks the commencement of our Train-the-Trainer session, a unique and transformative experience that converges the realms of women’s mediation and digital skills.
He further said: “In the spirit of collaboration and progress, we gather here with a shared vision to equip ourselves with the knowledge and tools necessary to foster mediation expertise and amplify digital skills among women.”
According to the ED, the session was not merely a training, it will be a dynamic platform where “we collectively contribute to building bridges of understanding and enhancing the technological prowess of women in our communities.”
Gad told the participants that as the training and facilitators began to delve into the intricacies of mediation, the participants were expected to keep in mind the profound impact it could have on conflict resolution and community harmony.
He also noted: “Moreover, our exploration of digital skills is a gateway to unlocking new opportunities, bridging the gender gap in the digital landscape. The fusion of these two pillars-mediation and digital skills- creates a powerful synergy that has the potential to bring about positive change.”
According to him, the trainers were not only going to impart knowledge but also to ignite the spark within the participants.
He stressed: “Together, we will foster an environment of inclusivity, learning, and innovation. This is not just a training room, it is a space where ideas flourish, skills are honed, and empowerment takes root.
“Let us approach this session with open minds, ready to absorb the wealth of knowledge that surrounds us. Engage in discussions, share your experiences, and cultivate the skills that will empower you to be effective mediators and digital advocates. The impact of your journey here will extend far beyond these walls, reaching communities and transforming lives.
“May our collective efforts today sow the seeds of positive change and empowerment, creating a ripple effect that resonates far and wide.”
