The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA Lagos State Command, has a new State Commander, he is Abubakar Liman Wali, Commander of Narcotics.

The new State Commander, before his posting to Lagos, has battled the scourge of Methamphetamine popularly called nkurun miri in a local language in Imo State, the illicit drugs that is ravaging the youth in the Eastern region of Nigeria.
He fought the trade through supply reduction (arrest and seizures) as well as demand reduction through sensitization and awareness. Which brought the drugs trafficking and abuse to its knees.
While assuming duty, the new State Commander has promised to continue the aggressive fight against the illicit drugs trade and consumption of drugs in Lagos, he Stated that the records set by his predecessor, he will make sure he maintained it.
He further stated that Lagos is the center for illicit drug distribution and supply to other parts of the county, and even beyond, he is going to give them the maximum fight of their lives to justify the confidence reposed on him by the Chairman.
He therefore warns the individuals and groups that are indulging in this nefarious trade to rethink and change or the full wrath of the law will be applied to them when caught.
He finally said that the illicit drug war is not for the NDLEA Organisation alone, but it’s a collective responsibility of all. Hence, all hands must be on deck to tackle this epidemic of illicit drugs head-on.
He is assuring Lagosian that with their support in providing credible information about those men and women of the underworld in their communities,  the scourge will be brought to a minimum.
