The Delta State Police Command men have foiled an armed robbery operation at the Hausa Market in Asaba.
From a press release issued by DSP Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, it was gathered that on the 11th of September, 2022 at about 04:30 PM, the Command in a swift response to a distress call from the Hausa Market in Asaba, about some suspicious looking persons using a tricycle in the area, operatives of the Command’s CP-Decoy Squad were detailed to the area.
On sighting the Police, the hoodlums abandoned a de-faced tricycle, a fabricated AK 47 rifle, 12 rounds of 9mm live ammunition and 23 live cartridges all concealed in black polythene bags and hidden beneath the rear passenger’s seat were recovered.
Effort has been intensified in collaboration with local vigilantes to arrest the fleeing suspects.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali has expressed his appreciation of the efforts of the residents of the state who always avail the Command with helpful information that aids in crime fighting and urges to continue to collaborate with the Command.
He also assures all that the identity of anyone who gives information to the Police will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
