CP Edo warns drivers to stop using vehicles with tinted glasses, unmarked cars

The Commissioner of Police, Edo Police Command, CP Muhammed A. Dankwara, has warned vehicle owners and motorists in the state to desist from the continued usage of spy number plates, unmarked vehicles, and vehicles with tinted glasses in the State.

The CP’s warning comes against the backdrop of the prevalent use of the despite several appeals to vehicle owners on the subject matter.

It would also be recalled that on the 13th of July, 2022, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, in a bid to improve internal security and prevent the possibility of criminal elements taking undue advantage to perpetrate crime and evade scrutiny, had issued a ban on the use of Spy number plates nationwide.

The CP has therefore directed that all tactical team, highway, and visibility patrol teams at the various levels in the State should ensure that all vehicle owners and users found defaulting should be impounded and the owners made to face the full wrath of the law.
