CP presents cheques worth N11,000,000 to next of kin of late officers

The Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Command, CP Kolo Yusuf, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Usman Alkali Baba, presented cheques worth N11,000,000 to the next of kin of 17 late Police officers who lost their lives while on operations in Zamfara State.

The Cheques Presentation was part of the IGP’s Group life and family welfare insurance schemes.

The Commissioner of Police while presenting the cheques, appreciates the IGP for his persistent concern for the welfare of serving, retired as well as families of late  Police officers.

The CP describes the gesture as timely, stressing that it would go a long way in alleviating the suffering being encountered by families of deceased officers and will equally boost the morale of the serving personnel to continue to put in their best in the ongoing campaign against activities of criminal elements across the country.

The CP  charged the beneficiaries to utilize the money judiciously, noting that in the last four months alone, the Command had received a similar gesture from the IGP three times and presented the same to the next of kin.

Some of the beneficiaries, Aisha Bello. and Dan Iro who spoke on behalf of other Next of Kins thanked the IGP for the gesture and promised to use the money judiciously.

In a related development, Yusuf displayed ICT equipment allocated to the Command’s Insurance Office by the IGP.

According to the CP, the gesture is part of the IGP’s ongoing commitment to reinvigorate the police Insurance department for effective service delivery. The ICT equipment includes Brand New HP Desktop Computer, Printer, Scanner, Photocopy Machine, and USB among others.

All the equipment was handed over to Officer in charge Insurance office, ASP Hassan Abdullahi.
