Delta CP Tours Ughelli-Patani Expressway, Warns Officers Against Misconduct

-

The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, on Friday continued his visibility policing and supervisory tour of key security formations and flashpoints across the state, focusing on strategic locations along the Ughelli-Patani Expressway.

The tour covered major points, including Edjekota Junction, Evwreni Junction, Ohoro Junction, and several stop-and-search checkpoints, where the police commissioner assessed security deployments and interacted with officers on duty.

During the visit, Oyeniyi commended officers for their efforts in maintaining security but stressed that the command would not tolerate any form of misconduct or actions that could generate complaints from members of the public.

He directed officers to maintain proper dressing, a neat appearance, and professional conduct at all times, noting that their behaviour must reflect the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.

The commissioner also charged personnel to remain vigilant in the discharge of their duties, observe professional standards, and engage members of the public with courtesy and respect.

He warned against harassment, abuse, extortion, and other forms of incivility, emphasising that policing must be people-centred and carried out in strict compliance with human rights standards.

According to him, the Delta State Police Command remains committed to protecting lives and property across the state while promoting professionalism and accountability among its personnel.

Oyeniyi further reassured residents of the command’s determination to sustain effective security measures and urged members of the public to support the police by providing credible and timely information that could assist in crime prevention and detection.
