The Delta State Police Command says it has recorded major operational breakthroughs in Agbor and Warri, including the arrest of two suspects, the recovery of ammunition, and the seizure of large quantities of beverages suspected to be adulterated.
In a statement issued on August 23, 2026, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit (SAKU) carried out the operations based on credible intelligence and routine stop-and-search activities.
According to the statement, operatives of SAKU in Ubulu-Uku arrested a 28-year-old woman, Happiness Clifford, in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, over alleged involvement in gun-running activities.
Edafe said a search of the suspect’s hideout led to the recovery of 10 live cartridges concealed inside a bucket.
“During preliminary investigation, the suspect allegedly identified her husband, one Clifford Okoro, as a major supplier of the ammunition. Investigation is ongoing, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend him,” the statement said.
In a separate operation, the police intercepted a Toyota Sienna carrying quantities of ‘Gbefun Hot Drink’ suspected to be adulterated during a stop-and-search operation along the Warri–Agbarho Expressway on August 17, 2026.
The command said the 44-year-old driver of the vehicle was arrested, while subsequent investigations led officers to a warehouse in Lower Ginuwa, Warri.
At the warehouse, operatives recovered additional quantities of the suspected adulterated alcoholic drink, other beverages believed to be adulterated, and a Suzuki Shuttle bus loaded with similar products.
Edafe said the suspected operators fled upon seeing the police.
“Efforts are ongoing to apprehend them and unravel the source and distribution network,” he added.
The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, commended the operatives for the successful operations and directed that investigations be intensified to ensure all suspects connected with the cases are arrested and prosecuted.
“The Commissioner of Police urged members of the public to continue supporting the Police with credible and timely information,” the statement said.
