Disu mourns brave Inspector Kunle Adelabu, recalls encounter with serial killer

-

A Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, has taken to his Facebook wall to mourn the passing of his colleague, an Inspector of Police, Kunle Adelabu.

He said: “I just received some shocking news about Inspector Kunle Adelabu. He was a brave and dedicated police officer who worked hard to serve our community.

“He wasn’t just a colleague to us, but a friend, and we’re going to miss him a lot. Kunle was the kind of police officer you could always trust to do his job well.

“He was really brave and never hesitated to put himself in danger to protect others. He always went above and beyond what was expected of him and made everyone around him feel safe.

“I remember working with Kunle about 20 years ago when I was his DPO at Ago Iwoye. We were on a dangerous mission to apprehend a serial killer and cultist. Kunle was by my side the whole time and was always ready to face any challenge that came our way. When we finally found the suspect, he started shooting at us and Kunle was hit. We rushed him to the hospital and thankfully he survived and regained full use of his arm.

“Kunle was a really brave and dedicated police officer who will always be remembered for his courage and commitment to his job. He made a big impact on our department and will be missed by everyone who knew him. We’re all really sad about his passing, but we know that he lived a life of purpose and made a real difference in the world.

“To Kunle’s family, I want to offer my deepest sympathy and condolences. I know that nothing will take away the pain of your loss, but I hope that you can find some comfort in knowing that Kunle was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. Rest in peace, Kunle. You will always be remembered as a hero and a true aburo.”
