EFCC, Gombe Geographical Information System in Fresh Synergy against Land Fraud

-

The Gombe Zonal  Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC and Gombe  Geographical Information System, GOGIS, have come into a new synergy to tackle land fraud in the state.

This fresh move was made in Gombe,  Gombe State  on Friday  October 10, 2025 at  a sensitisation lecture held by the EFCC  at the GOGIS office

In his address,  the acting Zonal Director, EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC,  ACE1 Austine S. Adache, stated that ” the Executive  Chairman of the EFCC, Mr Ola Olukoyede, has directed that the Commission give priority to the preventive mandate of the Commission as it is cheaper to prevent than to prosecute. We are here to strengthen the existing  synergy  and to also sensitise your staff on the land scam”

He added, “Our investigation has shown that land scam is the predominant scam committed in the state and because you are one of our stakeholders, we thought it wise to collaborate with you.  We urge you to continue sharing intelligence with us. “

Speaking on “Land Fraud Experience in Gombe State: The Prevention Strategy”, Superintendent of the EFCC,  SE Samuel Ajayi explained the processes and modalities of land fraud and ways of curbing the menace in Gombe State.

Responding, the Director General of GOGIS, Dr. Kabiru Hassan commended  the EFCC for  the lecture, stressing that the fresh alliance would go a long way in curbing land scam in the state.
