The Ekiti State Police Command has launched a discreet investigation into a disturbing incident circulating on social media showing armed security operatives forcibly entering a residence in Ado-Ekiti. The exact location of the apartment remains unidentified.
The footage, which quickly went viral, sparked public outrage and widespread speculation that the operatives were members of the Operation Flush Unit—a joint security task force operating in the region.
However, police authorities have firmly denied any involvement, clarifying that the Nigeria Police Force is not part of the Operation Flush initiative and does not maintain such a unit.
Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, has condemned the act and ordered an immediate and thorough investigation to identify those responsible.
In a public statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abutu Sunday, the Command called for calm and urged anyone with credible information, especially victims, to come forward to aid the investigation.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the rule of law, protecting citizens’ rights, and safeguarding lives and property across Ekiti State.
The public is encouraged to cooperate with the authorities as they work towards ensuring justice and restoring trust.
