The Commissioner of Police for the Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, mspsp, has reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to fostering a stronger and more effective working relationship with the Nigerian Army to enhance security and public safety across the state.

CP Giwa provided this assurance during a high-level courtesy visit by the Commander of the 82 Division Garrison, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Garba A. Suru, at the State Police Headquarters in GRA, Enugu.

During the meeting, Brigadier General Suru, who was on an official familiarisation visit, emphasised the critical importance of sustained synergy and cordial collaboration between the State Police Command and the Army Garrison Command. He noted that integrated efforts are essential for maintaining the prevailing peace and addressing emerging security challenges within the region.

In his response, CP Giwa welcomed the Commander’s initiative, noting that the existing inter-agency cooperation has been a cornerstone of the state’s security architecture. The Commissioner, flanked by senior members of the Command’s Management Team, expressed confidence that the reinforced partnership would yield even greater results in crime prevention and the protection of lives and property.

The visit concluded with a mutual pledge to maintain open channels of communication and conduct joint operations where necessary to ensure that Enugu remains a haven for all residents and visitors.
