Enugu Police arrest six for alleged robbery, recovers pistol

Acting on credible information, Police Operatives serving in the 9th Mile Police Division of the Command, on the 24th of November, at about 3:20 pm, arrested six male suspects in a building along Nsukka/Makurdi Highway, 9th Mile in Udi Local Government Area.

The police recovered one locally-fabricated double-barreled pistol with a live cartridge.

The suspects have been identified as Anigbo Stephen, 23,  Iyere Promise, 28, Charles Onoh, 24, Obinna Joseph, 19, Charles Obilor, 25 and Ede Chibuike, 24.

The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), a Deputy Superintendent of Police, Daniel Ndukwe, said: “Ongoing investigation into the case at the Anti-Robbery Section of the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department (SCIID) Enugu, revealed that the sextet, three of whom are linked to a similar case earlier reported, were perfecting plans to commit felonious crimes before they were apprehended.”
