The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, hosted the Director of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) National Cybercrime Centre (NCCC), CP Uche Henry Ifeanyi, during a working visit at the State Headquarters, GRA, Enugu.
Welcoming the visiting Director and his team, CP Uzuegbu commended the NPF NCCC for its outstanding achievements in combating both national and international cybercrime under CP Uche’s leadership.
He reaffirmed the Command’s support for the Centre’s initiatives, while also encouraging the team to sustain its momentum in the fight against cybercrime.
Furthermore, he urged the Centre to extend its technical expertise and training to personnel in other formations and commands within the NPF.
In response, CP Henry, who doubles as the Chairman of the International Police (Interpol) African Working Group on Cybercrime, informed the Command CP of his mission to Enugu, which included the launch of a two-day cybersecurity awareness program organised by the Centre in collaboration with non-governmental organizations.
He applauded the efforts of CP Uzuegbu in maintaining security in Enugu State and emphasised the Centre’s commitment to building the cybercrime-fighting capacity of police officers across the Force.
CP Kanayo was joined by DCP Adebowale Lawal, Head of the State CID; ACP Paul Dung, Head of the State Intelligence Bureau; and ACP Hope Okereke Isiani, Assistant Commissioner of Police in the Department of Finance and Administration, to receive and interact with the visiting team.
