In a decisive move to bolster security across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has ordered a sweeping crackdown on criminal elements operating within the Territory.
The operation, which begins this November and will run through January 2026, is part of a sustained effort to maintain the peace and safety of residents.
Under the directive, tactical and surveillance units from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), the Police Mobile Force (PMF), and the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) have been mobilised. These units will work in concert with the Department of Operations and all Divisional Police Formations to execute a coordinated cleanup of identified black spots, criminal hideouts, and vulnerable communities.
According to CP Dantawaye, the operation will be marked by intensity and consistency, with officers tasked with dominating high-risk areas and ensuring round-the-clock security coverage. He issued a stern warning to all personnel involved, emphasising that professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights must guide their conduct. Any form of misconduct or dereliction of duty, he said, will not be tolerated.
The Commissioner also called on the public to support the initiative by cooperating with law enforcement officers and remaining vigilant. He urged residents to report suspicious activities or unfamiliar individuals to the nearest police station promptly.
