FCT Police Storm Bandit Hideout in Madam Forest, Recover Arms and Ammunition

-

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has announced a breakthrough in its fight against kidnapping and organised crime, following a successful raid on a bandit hideout in Dajin Madam Forest, located between Plateau and Bauchi States.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, operatives of the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit recovered two AR Galil rifles, magazines, and live rounds of ammunition concealed within the hideout. “This operation was a direct result of credible intelligence provided by one of the suspects, Musbahu Ishaq, who had earlier been arrested for supplying arms and illicit substances to bandits,” Adeh stated.

The raid was part of a follow-up investigation into the arrest of four suspects paraded at the Command Headquarters on July 11, 2026. Investigations revealed that Ishaq obtained weapons from one Rabiu Hassan and supplied them to a notorious bandit kingpin, Baba Alhaji Sanusi, who remains at large and is believed to be hiding in Katsina State.

Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD, FCAI, emphasised the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing. “We will not relent until all members of this criminal syndicate are apprehended and brought to justice. Our operatives are working tirelessly to recover additional arms linked to the network,” he said.

Sanusi also urged residents to support ongoing operations by providing timely and credible information. “We call on the public to continue sharing intelligence with the nearest police station or through our emergency lines: 08032003913 and 08028940883,” he added.

The Command assured that investigations are ongoing to track down the remaining suspects and dismantle the syndicate’s operations across the region.
