Former Speaker, Obasa’s Life, Family Under Threat, Says CP Lagos

-

The Police Commissioner in Lagos State, CP Moshood Jimoh, said that he was forced to attach policemen to the former Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Mudashiru Obasa after he received a petition alleging a threat to his life and that of his family.

The CP, who made this statement on Thursday while addressing journalists, stressed that the policemen attached to Obasa had no political motive related to his position.

Jimoh said: “A petition from Hon. Mudashiru Obasa on threats to his life and that of his family in the last few days and it was based on that, the Police personnel were approved. Police personnel attached to the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mrs Mojisola Meranda, who was earlier withdrawn on Thursday, have been restored after official processes and approval of such men as required by the Force.

“As I speak with you, the audit of the police personnel attached to Hon. Mojisola Meranda has been completed and the four armed personnel attached to her from the Lagos State Police Command have been returned to her for her protection.”
