Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has presented 100 motorbikes and 10 Hilux patrol vehicles to the Taraba Marshal, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to strengthening security across the state.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Governor Kefas said the security of lives and property remains a top priority of his government. He noted that the state-owned security outfit was established to enhance grassroots security and effectively combat crime.
Representing the governor, the Chairman of the Taraba State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Mr. Nelson Lens, explained that the vehicles and motorbikes were procured to boost the operational capacity of the Taraba Marshal in safeguarding communities across the state.
Mr. Lens commended the efforts of various security agencies operating in Taraba State, as well as residents for their continued cooperation with security operatives in maintaining peace and order.
In his remarks, the Commandant of the Taraba Marshal, retired Commissioner of Police Agyole Abeh, praised Governor Kefas for fostering a conducive security environment and for his consistent support of the outfit over the years.
He disclosed that the 100 motorbikes and 10 Hilux patrol vehicles would be distributed across the state’s 16 local government areas to further strengthen security at the grassroots level.
The presentation is expected to enhance surveillance, rapid response, and crime prevention efforts, particularly in rural communities across Taraba State
