Grandmom Puts Granddaughter’s Hands In Fire For Eating Noodles Without Permission

-

The Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and the Ministry has stepped into a case where a grandmom inflicted burns on her granddaughter after she ate noodles without permission.

Some child rights advocates have described the woman’s action as extreme violence against a child.

It was gathered that the angry granny placed her daughter’s hands in a lit cooking gas, burning her badly because she ate noodles without her granny’s permission.

The child told advocates who spoke with her that she was hungry.

A kind-hearted person who witnessed the incident reported it to the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs, and the Ministry stepped into the case and arrested the grandmother.

The child has since been taken to UBTH for prompt medical care and attention.

An advocate said, “Some people are demons in human flesh. So evil. This girl’s life is now made harder and condemned by this act of wickedness. This girl was crying and begging, but her granny held her hands over the fire until the fingers were all burned.”
