A police sergeant was killed today when gunmen attacked a police team at Ekreravwen Junction, carting away rifles in Delta State.

In a police signal sighted by securitynewsalert.com, patrol teams in the state were warned to be extra vigilant to avoid being killed.

The signal states: “To all patrol teams be informed that Dragon Patrol Team stationed at Ekreravwen Junction along East/West Road before Beta Glass Company, Ughelli, have just been attacked by yet-to-be-identified gunmen. A police sergeant attached to the team is said to have been killed and their rifles carted away. So, there’s a need to be extra vigilant to avoid another ugly incident.”
