Health Workers Protest as Laboratory Scientist Is Allegedly Stabbed by Patient’s Relative at FMC Abeokuta

-

A laboratory scientist at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta, identified as Mr Lawal, has reportedly been stabbed by a patient’s relative, sparking outrage among health workers at the facility.

The incident reportedly occurred on Monday night, according to information obtained by SaharaReporters.

In the wake of the attack, health workers at the hospital convened a congress of joint health workers to discuss the incident and address growing concerns over the safety of medical personnel.

Sources familiar with the development told SaharaReporters that the congress was still ongoing at the time of filing this report.

The circumstances that led to the alleged stabbing, the identity of the patient’s relative involved, and the condition of the laboratory scientist were not immediately clear.

SaharaReporters will continue to monitor developments surrounding the alleged attack, including the outcome of the health workers’ congress and any official response from the hospital management.
