Homicide detectives have arrested twenty-one-year-old Esther Paul from the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, for allegedly stabbing her lover, Sadiq Owolabi Dahiru, 21, to death in the Ilasan area of Lekki, Lagos State.
The State’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident, said that the matter was reported to the police by Kazeem Obafunson, stepfather to the deceased.
Hundeyin also stated that the incident happened on Sunday 20th November 2022.
Hundeyin explained: “Patrol team from Ilasan Division was quickly deployed to the scene at Oba Amusa Street Agungi Lekki and they moved to Evercare Hospital Lekki, where the said Sadiq Owolabi Dahiru was to be treated but was confirmed dead by the doctor. The suspect, Esther Paul was arrested and the knife was recovered. The corpse was later deposited at IDH Mortuary Yaba Lagos for preservation and autopsy.”
