An unnamed Nigeria Immigration Personnel on the 24th of January 2025, shot another immigration personnel in the Akowonjo area of Lagos State while trying to shoot a policeman says a source.

Securitynewsalert.com heard that a trigger-happy immigration officer, along with his other colleagues had dragged one of the Policemen attached to the Lagos State Police Task Force into their office at Sobo Bus stop.

The Immigration officer allegedly wanted to shoot the policeman in the hip, the bullet, however, hit the policeman and another immigration officer who was standing nearby.

It will be recalled that Securitynewsalert.com had exclusively reported that immigration officers and policemen attached to the Lagos State Police Task Force clashed in the Akowonjo area, leading to an exchange of gunfire.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of ShaSha Police Station, who came to make peace, was given the beating of his life by the immigration officers. They also collected his phone him.

A fresh source told Securitynewsalert.com that contrary to the earlier report that an Immigration officer and personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were shot and rushed to Crystal Hospital, it was a policeman that was shot, not an NSCDC personnel.

The source disclosed: “What really happened was that an Okada rider was taking one-day, and Police Task Force saw him. They wanted to arrest him, he ran to the gate of the immigration office.

“He did not enter into the office, just at the gate, this was where Task Force caught up with him. Immigration personnel came out and refused the Task Force people to arrest him.

“Both parties started fighting; one of the policemen was dragged into the compound of immigration by their personnel. They were just the policeman, but the bullet also hit their colleague.

“What the immigration personnel did was very wrong. They also beat up the poor DPO, who came to make peace.”
