The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force, extends heartfelt congratulations to the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) under the esteemed leadership of its President, Dr. (Mrs.) Elizabeth Egbetokun, on the hosting of its 2025 Annual National Convention today, July 30, 2025, in Lagos State.
The three-day convention, scheduled from July 30th to August 1st, 2025, and themed “Unlocking POWA Potentials and Transformational Leadership,” marks a significant milestone in the Association’s journey of empowerment and national development. It highlights POWA’s dedication to promoting innovation, leadership, and strategic partnerships that address the evolving needs of police families across Nigeria.
The Opening Ceremony, taking place at the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, will be attended by distinguished guests including senior government officials, traditional rulers, diplomatic representatives, development partners, women leaders, and senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force.
Key highlights of the 2025 Convention include empowerment workshops, sports activities, and targeted initiatives aimed at enhancing the mental, physical, and economic well-being of POWA members. These engagements are expected to cultivate a new generation of visionary women leaders, who will play vital roles in fostering strong families and a more resilient nation.
While lauding the dynamic leadership of Dr. (Mrs.) Elizabeth Egbetokun for her transformational stewardship of POWA, the IGP reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing welfare packages for both serving and retired personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
