IGP’s POCACOV Initiative: Ramadan Lecture Holds To Combat Cultism, Extremism

The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV-IGP), through the initiative of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, aimed at combating vices, will be holding a Ramadan lecture on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

The Ramadan lecture is a move to engage in a meaningful discourse on the consequences of people’s actions and the impact they have in life and hereafter.
The programme will be taking place at Ejigbo LCDA Secretariat, Opposite NNPC, Ejigbo Community, Lagos between 3:30p.m and 7p.m.
The topic of the lecture is “Name, Fame, and Shame: The Consequences of One’s Actions in the Hereafter.”
The National Coordinator of POCACOV, ACP Olabisi Okuwobi, who spoke on the Ramadan lecture, said that it is aimed at helping those who will attend to gain insights into the moral and spiritual implications of individual’s actions.
The National Coordinator of POCACOV, ACP Olabisi Okuwobi, also added that it is targeted at combating cultism and other vices in society, especially in youths.
Also, there will be an interactive session during which people can engage with the speakers and clarify their doubts.
The National Coordinator said that there will be sharing of experiences through which people could learn from real-life stories.
She assured that the event promises to be enlightening and inspiring, offering valuable lessons that can guide all in making better choices for a brighter future.
The National Coordinator urged the general public to be present at the programme and also participate actively.
The Ramadan lecture will also feature Iftar (breaking of fast) and the sharing of Qoidat (guidance on Islamic principles).
POCACOV is a community-based initiative by IGP Egbetokun which is aimed at preventive policing to combat cultism, violence, and other social vices, especially among young people.
