Inspector killed, guard injured as gunmen attack fuel station in Lagos

A Police Inspector, Sunday Alih was shot dead and a security guard identified a Junior Ogundare injured when gunmen attacked the AP fuel station at the Isheri Olofin Idimu area of Lagos State on Wednesday.

According to information, the Inspector was attached to SPU Base ‘2’ Ikeja and was posted on duty at the fuel station.

Eyewitnesses claimed that gunmen stormed the station and opened fire on the inspector and security guard.

The policeman died, while the security guard was in the hospital battling to stay alive.

Securitynewsalertc.com gathered that the incident happened on the 16th of November 2022 at about 4: am.

It was gathered that gunmen after making sure that the policeman was dead left with his AK47 rifle.

A police source said: “ On the 16th November 2022 at about 4:30 am, Sunday Abolaji of No.1 Hassan Balogun Street Isheri Olofin Idimu Lagos came to the station and lodged a complaint that he is a security guard at AP Petrol station located at Idimu/ Ejigbo Road and that about 4:am of the same day, while on duty two armed men came to the filling station and attacked them and in the process, one police officer AO No, 263820 inspector Sunday Alih attached to SPU Base ‘2’ Ikeja posted on duty at the place was shot dead. One Junior Ogundare, a security guard was also shot and he’s receiving treatment in a hospital presently. Information has it that the hoodlums escaped with the rifle of the policeman. The operatives at Idimu Division visited the scene, while the case was incidented and referred for investigation.”
