A Police Inspector, identified as Akunna Chidiebere, attached to Dops Owerri, Imo State, has been shot to death by yet-to-be-identified gunmen in the state.
The deceased was killed on the 22nd of May 2023 while conveying his two children to school at Amakohia Ubi in Owerri West LGA Imo.
He was said to have been stopped by gunmen who forced his children out of his car and demanded his car key which he refused to hand it to them.
They brought him out of his car and shot him in the left ribs side with a pump action gun, collected his car, and zoomed off to an unknown destination. He was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
