The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police,  Bello M Sani, has instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) to investigate how and why 25-year-old Yunusa Haruna, killed his elder brother, Isiyaku Haruna.

The incident was said to have occurred on the 31st of December 2024 at about 2: am. The Police said that the suspect stabbed the victim in his chest with a knife.

According to the Police, following a credible lead, the suspect was subsequently arrested by a team of Policemen, attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Shanga.

In the same vein, on the 8th January 2025 at about 4:30 pm, one Abubakar Umar ‘m’ aged 25yrs of Jarkasa area, Zuru LGA of Kebbi State, stabbed one Mohammed Bala ‘m’ of the same address, with a sharp knife on his head over a mere argument.

As a result, he died on the spot. The suspect also inflicted injury on the hand of the deceased’s junior brother Sama’ila Bala.

On receipt of the report, a team of Policemen attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Zuru, promptly responded and arrested the suspect.

Given the foregoing, CP Sani condemned the unfortunate incidents and called on the peace-loving people of Kebbi State to always report their grievances to the appropriate authorities for redress, instead of resorting to self-help.

The CP equally directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to conduct a discreet investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the ugly incidents and charge the suspects to court on completion of the investigation.
