Kebbi Police Rescues 8 Kidnaped Victims In Combine Operation

The Kebbi State Police Command said it has rescued eight among the nine victims kidnapped.

This was even as the Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani condoles with the Kebbi State Government, guru emirate and immediate family of the late District Head Of Kanya, Alhaji Isah Daya, promising to arrest fleeing perpetrators.

According to the Command’s spokesman, a Superintendent of Police, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the command acted on credible intelligence and given the determination and resilience of the combined team of Policemen, military and members of the vigilante rescued the victims.

Kiyawa said that the eight victims of the kidnapping incident of 6th October 2024, at Kanya District of Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, were successfully rescued unhurt on Tuesday, 8th October 2024 at about 10:am, at Sakaba Forest after a gun duel.

Kiyawa said: “The rescued victims have since been reunited with their families after medical attention at General Hospital, Sakaba.

“Regrettably, while the search and rescue operation was ongoing, the dead body of the district head of Kanya, Alhaji Isah Daya was found in the forest.

“Given the foregoing, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M. Sani is using this medium to condole with the Kebbi State government, Zuru emirate, immediate family and well-wishers of the late district head of Kanya, Alhaji Isah Daya and prayed may his gentle soul continue to rest in Jannatul Firdaus.

“Consequently, the CP hereby solicit members of the public to provide the Command and other security agencies with relevant information that will assist in arresting the perpetrators of the dastardly act.”
