Kidnappers Invade Community In Kebbi, Abduct Three People

-

On 27th July, 2025, at about 2 am, a gang of kidnappers armed with sophisticated weapons invaded Sangara village in Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State, and kidnapped one Muhammad Nasamu Namata, 25,  Gide Namata, 20 and Hamidu Alhaji Namani, 35, all of the same address, to an unknown destination.

Upon receiving the report, the Divisional police Officer, Shanga, mobilised a combined team of security personnel comprising the Police, Army, NSCDC, Vigilantes and hunters for a search and rescue mission. While the operation was ongoing, they trailed the kidnappers at Shanga hills and engaged them in a fierce gun duel.

Due to the high firepower of the combined security personnel, the suspected kidnappers abandoned their victims and took to their heels into the forest with fatal wounds. The victims have successfully been rescued on the 31st July, 2025, at about 1530hrs, and are currently receiving treatment at a facility before being reunited with their families.

In the light of the above, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani, had commended the bravery, commitment and professionalism displayed by the combined team of security personnel in rescuing the victims promptly and charged them to sustain the synergy amongst them, as no security outfit can do it alone.

CP Bello M Sani equally reiterated the Command’s readiness in safeguarding the lives and property of the good people of Kebbi State.

The CP called on the residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station for prompt response, please.
