Lagos Police Apprehend Six ‘One Chance’ Robbery Suspects, Recover Weapons

-

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested six suspected members of a notorious “One Chance” robbery syndicate operating along the Ago Palace Way and Okota areas of the state.

The breakthrough occurred during a routine stop-and-search operation conducted by police officers along Ago Palace Way. According to official reports, the operatives intercepted a tricycle with registration number AAA 720 QL carrying six occupants just as they were attempting to rob unsuspecting commuters. Upon sighting the police, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Officers recovered the tricycle, a mobile phone, and a cutlass used in their operations.

Following a swift investigation, law enforcement tracked down and arrested all six suspects. They have been identified as 23-year-old Basiru Rilwan, 25-year-old Afeez Akeem, 20-year-old Ademola Yekeen, 27-year-old Sodipo Oyeyemi, Ayomide Gafar, and 28-year-old Fabayo Michael. At the time of their arrest, the suspects were found in possession of a dummy pistol, which they allegedly used to intimidate their victims.

The Lagos State Police Command confirmed that the suspects will be formally charged in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.

Speaking on the development, the State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police CP Tijani Fatai, reaffirmed its dedication to sustaining proactive policing strategies to combat crime and guarantee the safety of Lagos residents. The command further urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue providing timely, credible information to assist security agencies in ridding the state of criminal elements.
