Landlady’s Son Rapes Corps Member At Machete Point

A 44-year-old man, Paul Samuel Edu has been arrested for raping a corps member at a machete point in the Essien Udim area of Akwa Ibom State.

The suspect has been discovered to be the son of the corps member’s landlady.

The Akwa Ibom Police Command said the suspect was arrested, while a machete and a slaughter knife were recovered from him.

Speaking about the case, the Akwa Ibom Commissioner of Police, Waheed Ayilara said: “On the 20th of July 2024, at about 3:15 pm, a National Youth Service Corps member residing at Ukana Iba village in Essien Udim reported that at about 3:am  Paul Samuel Edu, who is her landlord’s son came knocking at her door.

“She said on opening the door, the said Paul brandished her a machete, and directed her to follow him to his room for a talk or else he would harm her. On reaching the suspect’s room, he bolted the door, tore her clothes and had carnal knowledge without her consent.”
