Forty-six-year-old Olusegun Oluwole has been arrested by Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command for using a death threat to rape his 17 years old daughter.

The survivor told police that her father grabbed and threatened to kill her if she did not allow him to have his way with her. After the act, the survivor went to lodge a complaint with the security agency.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, explained thus: “The suspect was apprehended following a complaint lodged at Ibara Police Station by the victim who was accompanied by operatives of Safe Men. She said that she was sleeping in their one-room apartment in the Amolaso area of Abeokuta at about 11:30 pm, when her father having observed others fast asleep suddenly grabbed her with a threat to kill her if she refuse to allow him. On hearing the report, the Divisional Police Officer (PPRO) in charge of Ibara Division, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Bernard Egbondiya, quickly detailed his detectives to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested.”

According to Oyeyemi on interrogation, the father of six, who confessed to the crime pleaded for forgiveness, claiming not to know what came over him.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole has ordered the transfer of the suspect to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution. At the same time, the victim was taken to the General Hospital for medical treatment.
