Homicide detectives of the Lagos State Police Command have launched a manhunt for one Ganiyu Ibrahim, who appeared to have disappeared into thin air after stabbing his cousin, Afeez Akeem to death during a squabble.
The Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin said that it was the suspect’s mother who went to the Police Station to complain about her son.
However, before getting to the scene, the said Ibrahim had fled.
Hundeyin said: “The complainant reported that her son, Ganiyu Ibrahim and her nephew Afeez Akeem, were having a misunderstanding that resulted in a physical confrontation.
“As a result, Ganiyu broke a bottle and stabbed Afeez on the left side of his chest. The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
“A team of detectives was immediately mobilised to the scene and photographs were taken. However, the family declined autopsy but opted to bury the deceased according to Islamic rite. The suspect is at large. The investigation is ongoing and effort is on to apprehend the fleeing suspect.”
