NAF Seeks Collaboration with EFCC in Tackling Corruption at Airports

Newly- posted Commandant at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, Group Captain B. Topman has sought greater collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in tackling the menace of economic and financial crimes at airports across the country.

  He made the disclosure in Enugu on Thursday, November 2, 2023 while paying a Courtesy Visit to the Enugu Zonal Command of the EFCC.

 Topman said he visited the Command to seek improved collaboration and effective synergy between the EFCC and the Nigerian Air Force , NAF at the Airport.  According to him,  the “EFCC is very paramount to us and we have been collaborating with the Commission, even when I was in Kaduna, Kano and Port Harcourt, I assisted with maximum support  to effect the arrest of individuals or suspects wanted by the Commission at the airport. Hence, my team is willing to collaborate with Enugu Zonal Command to make their airport’s operations seamless”, he said.

  Responding, the Enugu Zonal Commander of the EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE 1 Aliyu Naibi,  expressed satisfaction with the visit,  promising that the two agencies will continue to collaborate with each other for the progress of the nation.   “I’m very happy and I commend the NAF for the services it is rendering at all times to the Commission and despite all the challenges in the country, I believe Nigeria is going to be great, and this constant interaction with each other will make our work more effective”,  he said.
