Nigeria Police to Launch Vigilant App, MTN CUG Network on September 1

-

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, will officially launch the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Vigilant App alongside the MTN Closed User Group (CUG) Network on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre in Abuja.

According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, the twin initiatives form part of the police leadership’s broader push to deepen technology-driven policing and improve both public engagement and internal communication across the Force.

The NPF Vigilant App is designed to enhance interaction between the police and the public, enabling improved information sharing and real-time communication. The MTN CUG Network, meanwhile, will serve as a dedicated communication platform intended to ensure seamless and secure coordination among police personnel nationwide.

Force authorities say the launch reflects the IGP’s commitment to leveraging modern technology and strategic partnerships to strengthen internal coordination, boost operational effectiveness, and deliver more responsive, people-centred security services to Nigerians.

The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its resolve to continue harnessing innovation and technology-driven solutions in its ongoing modernisation efforts.
