NSCDC Performs Ground-breaking For 300 Housing Units

The Lagos NSCDC Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, today, Tuesday, 24th June, 2025, has performed ground ground-breaking ceremony for three hundred ( 300 ) units of one ( 1 ) and two ( 2 ) bedrooms in Igbehin Community, Agbowa, Ikosi-Ejirin, Lagos.

 

The Lagos state Commandant, Mr Keshinro Adedotun, while delivering his speech at the event, said that the project was laudable, impactful and capable of solving the challenges of housing that often affect the overall performance of personnel.

 

The Lagos State Commandant said that the Command wants its men and officers to have roofs over their heads based on the directive of the Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR.

 

The Lagos State Commandant applauded, the Cooperative Executives and the developers, for ensuring that they worked hard to make all Cooperators become landlords before they retire from their meritorious service to their Father land.

 

The President, Lagos NSCDC Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd, Chief Superintendent of Corps Soetan Kehinde Peter, seized the opportunity to emphasise the need for every officer to have a roof over their head.

 

The Cooperative President said that the major purpose of being a member of cooperative society was to improve one’s welfare and as a result the executives were motivated, to go all out to pursue affordable housing plans for members.

 

The President explained that the Cooperative Society partnered with Youniverse Properties Ltd to make this project happen. He said that the project will accommodate one hundred and forty-nine ( 149 ) buildings, and the first ( 1st ) fifty ( 50 ) units will be commissioned come Wednesday, 17th September, 2025, as planned.

 

The Managing Director, Youniverse Properties Ltd, Mr Nicolas Orakwe, also told cooperators at the event that the NSCDC cooperative estate was predominantly for NSCDC officers only.

 

The MD Youniverse Properties Ltd, disclosed that all the modalities involved, from funding to the delivery of this project has been fully addressed and will be delivered within the space of three ( 3 ) years noting that building materials would be sourced locally.

 

Also present at the event were Chief Olayiwola Awotimirin, the Baale, Igbehin Community, Group Head of Polaris Bank, Mrs Abiola Adebiyi, the Branch Manager of Polaris Bank, Toyin Branch, Kunle Ogunleye, the Youth Leader, Mr Aslam Ibrahim, the Community Development Association Chairman, Mr Ifesanya Lateef, Treasurer of the CDA, Mr Oshinawo Salawu and other community leaders.
