The Marine and Anti-Vandal Teams of the Badagry Division of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, who were on routine surveillance and patrol, on Tuesday, 17th September 2022, intercepted and recovered 720 of 30 litres’ kegs each, of oil products identified to be Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, along Yafin Creek, Badagry, Lagos State.

The Command’s spokesman, DSC Abolurin Oluwaseun Olumide, said that the kegs of PMS were kept in batches by yet-to-be-identified suspects, with the motive to reload them all into a boat and proceed on their journey.

The officer in charge of Badagry, CSC Akinyemi Rasheed Ayodeji, who led the operation, with his men, said that the operation reaffirmed his and his men’s commitment to ensuring excellent performance towards fulfilling the mandate of the Corps in the State.

The Commandant has ordered that all the recovered oil products be transferred to the Command’s Headquarters, in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos for further investigation.
