NSCDC synergises with FRSC on traffic management in Lagos

-

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, has renewed the synergy between the NSCDC and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSCN), in a bid to foster safety, security, peace and progress in the State.

The robust relationship between the two services in Lagos was strengthened on Thursday, 13th April 2023, during a courtesy visit, by the new Sector Commander, FRSC, Lagos Sector Command, Babatunde Farinloye.

The Lagos State NSCDC spokesman, DSC Abolurin Oluwaseun, in a statement made available to journalists, said Farinloye, while stating the purpose of his visit, affirmed that Road safety is multisectoral as such the corps needs everyone’s support, including the NSCDC, to fulfil its mandate.

He recounted that in the spate of disobedience to traffic rules by motorists in the state, it was imperative for the Corps to join in arresting the ugly issues that usually, led to the loss of lives.

The Sector Commander also further elucidated the need for citizens to obtain their licences before they drive, and renew them when expired as he hinted that the process has been well thought out by the FRSC to make life easy for all citizens of the country.

He emphatically added that he has charged his officers and men on the assumption of office, to respect all uniform agencies and stakeholders, in the state and embrace cooperation rather than competition in a bid to achieve our collective goals of a safe, secure and peaceful state.

Responding, Alfadarai, commended the Lagos Sector Commander of the FRSC for being the first Service Commander, to visit him in office since his assumption in the state.

He also applauded the request of the Sector Commander for

collective support of the Corps to effectively manage and control traffic in Lagos state as no individual organization can do it alone.

The State Commandant also agreed with the FRSC on the renewal of drivers’ licences and charged all NSCDC personnel to do so, in a bid to foster compliance with our national policies and the laws of our land.
