The Commissioner of Police for the Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, formally received Nigerian police officer and world boxing champion ASP Olagbade Sulaimon, popularly known as “Tyson Kill,” alongside the organising team of OtaFEST Nigeria during a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
The delegation was led by Mr Michael Gomwalk Adebowale, the Executive Producer and Creative Director of OtaFEST Nigeria. Accompanying him were the festival’s Director of Operations, Mr Oluwatobi Olaniyi; the Director of Trade Fair and Welfare, Mr Diamond Egwu; and ASP Sulaimon’s head coach, Mr Olalekan Shoyoye.
During the briefing, the organisers outlined the preparations for OtaFEST 2026, describing the festival as a strategic cultural and creative platform designed to foster community development, boost trade, and enhance youth engagement through sports and entertainment. A primary highlight of this year’s festival will be an international boxing match headlined by ASP Sulaimon, who is scheduled to face a professional boxer from Lithuania in a highly anticipated bout.
The OtaFEST team expressed their gratitude to the Ogun State Police Command for maintaining peace and public order across the state, while formally requesting security collaboration to ensure a hitch-free event.
Responding to the delegation, CP Bode Ojajuni commended the organisers for their vision in driving economic empowerment and tourism through sports and culture. The Police Commissioner, a noted sports enthusiast, expressed immense pride in ASP Sulaimon’s athletic achievements, noting that the officer’s success brings significant global honour to the Nigeria Police Force.
CP Ojajuni highlighted Sulaimon’s extensive sporting resume, which includes titles as the former Nigerian National Super Welterweight Champion, West African Boxing Union Champion, and World Boxing Union Champion, alongside his current standings as the World Boxing Body Super Welterweight Champion and Heritage Boxing International Middleweight Champion. The Commissioner emphasised that such accomplishments epitomise the discipline and professionalism valued by the force.
Reaffirming the Command’s dedication to community-oriented policing and youth development, CP Ojajuni assured the delegation that adequate security frameworks would be deployed to guarantee a safe and successful festival.
