Olukoyede Seeks Integrity among School Children in Fight against Corruption

-

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede has charged school children in the country to embrace integrity in the fight against corruption.

The Chairman gave the charge at the inauguration of Integrity Club in Purpling School, Mararaba, Nasarawa State. The club is one of the Commission’s tools of inculcating anti-corruption virtues in school children.

The Commission’s Chairman, who was represented at the occasion by the head, EFCC Radio, DCE Nwanyinma Okeanu noted that corruption was the biggest evil that afflicts the country.

“Corruption is evil, no matter how small or insignificant it may appear, it should not be condoned. And without

integrity nothing works in the system. Also know that lack of integrity can lead to death,” the chairman stated.

Olukoyede further charged the students to be of exemplary character by eschewing examination malpractices, lying, pocket-picking, and every anti-social behaviour that could mar their future.

Head, of Enlightenment and Reorientation unit, ACE II, Aisha Mohammed while speaking at the event, enjoined the students to be patriotic and committed to the fight against economic and financial crimes by speaking out against internet fraud and corruption, adding that we all must save the country because it belongs to all of us.

“You are our future leaders and that’s why EFCC believes in catching you young, I want you to know that from now you have become our personnel by alliance and we look forward to achieving the Nigeria of our dream,” she said.

The head of the school, Magdalene Apenanibo-Orjime thanked the Commission for the initiative of grooming children in the fight against corruption and assured that the Integrity Club of Purpling School would yield the desired results.
