Operation HADIN KAI Intercepts Suspected Terrorist Logistics Suppliers, Recovers Strategic Materials in Borno

-

Troops of Sector 1, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), acting on credible intelligence, have intercepted a suspected terrorist logistics network and arrested six suspects in a coordinated covert operation aimed at disrupting terrorist supply chains in the North East Theatre.

The operation, conducted at about 4:00 p.m. on July 19, 2026, involved an intelligence-led stop-and-search exercise along a suspected terrorist logistics route. It culminated in the arrest of six suspected logistics suppliers travelling in five vehicles while conveying a large consignment of materials destined for terrorist elements.

Items recovered include 202 cartons of herbicides, one jerrycan containing suspected acid, one Starlink wireless internet communication system, six bags of NPK fertiliser, 10 bags of rice, 50 hoes, and 20 packs of knapsack sprayer pumps.

Preliminary assessment indicates the consignment comprises materials with potential dual-use applications capable of supporting terrorist logistics, sustainment, mobility, and communications. Some items — particularly the NPK fertiliser and suspected acid — will undergo further technical and forensic examination to determine their intended use, including possible application in fabricating Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

Military officials describe the seizure as a significant disruption of suspected terrorist logistics networks, further degrading their ability to sustain operations.

The six suspects and all recovered items have been transferred to the Military Intelligence Regiment for comprehensive investigation. The inquiry aims to establish the intended recipients, identify the wider logistics network, and facilitate the arrest of other collaborators and sponsors.

Preliminary debriefings of rescued hostages and surrendered terrorist families suggest that sustained disruption of logistics and supply chains by Operation HADIN KAI has significantly degraded terrorist groups’ operational capability. According to these debriefings, persistent shortages of food, medical supplies, communications equipment, and other essential logistics have compelled many terrorists to abandon hostages, families, and enclaves while fleeing sustained military pressure.

Operation HADIN KAI says it remains resolute in dismantling terrorist logistics and support networks through sustained, intelligence-driven operations. The Theatre says it will continue targeting terrorists, financiers, logistics suppliers, informants, and collaborators to deny them the resources, freedom of movement, and operational capability needed to sustain their campaign.

Officials say the continued degradation of terrorist logistics has proven instrumental in compelling terrorists to abandon their enclaves, surrender in increasing numbers, and relinquish captives held in their camps.

The public is encouraged to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information on suspicious persons, movements, and activities within their communities — cooperation officials describe as vital to ongoing counter-terrorism operations and the restoration of lasting peace in the North East.
